Bio
Ms. Alsgard has been an operating executive having spent 25+ years in a healthcare career practicing in a broad range of healthcare sectors. As a senior executive she most recently served as advisor to C-Suite executives at the Cleveland Clinic and Fortune 500 corporations developing and linking corporate strategy and operational management. Prior to this, Ms. Alsgard led strategic initiatives for major enterprises concentrating on clinical/medical management, pharma, provider networks and quality/patient safety management.
Ms. Alsgard has extensive experience working with and managing clinicians and various levels of business management. She has worked extensively with organizations to leverage emerging business models, wellness, disease management, process and outcomes, staff development, quality, healthcare informatics, as well as home care. She formulated standards and metrics to evaluate performance and outcomes for promotion of patient safety.
As a clinician, Ms. Alsgard researched and coauthored an unprecedented copyrighted nine-course online patient safety educational curriculum based on 300 nationally endorsed patient safety standards. These courses have been determined to meet the rigorous standards of the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) for nine hours of Category 1 CME credit for the past six years.
In the recent past Ms. Alsgard was awarded the “Most Distinguished Alumni Award” from the University of Michigan/Hurley School of Nursing for her outstanding achievements in healthcare. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of three companies and chairs the Board of a restaurant corporation.
